What Types of Vape Starter Kits are There?

How long is a piece of string? There are as many types of vape kits as there are vapes, but in general, starter kits for beginner and intermediate vapers will either be a Cartridge E-Cigarette (also known as a Pod Device),  or an E-Liquid Device. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, so it’s mostly down to personal preference which you go for.

What’s Included in a Vape Starter Kit?

In most vape starter kits, you can expect to get your vape device, plus any accessories, chargers, coils or anything else you need to get started straight away. If you get a pod starter kit, it will usually also include a few e-liquid pods to get you going, though if you’re picking up an e-liquid device, you’ll probably have to get your e-liquid separately. However, this means you get the pick of the bunch, and can choose whatever kind of e-liquid that appeals to you, rather than being restricted to only one brand of e-liquid, which many vapers appreciate.

What is a Vape Pod?

A vape pod is a small cartridge that usually comes pre-filled with e-liquid and is perfectly compatible with your vape device (you can’t often mix cartridges and devices from different brands). All you need to do is click, twist or slot your cartridge in, and you’re ready to vape! Pod devices are super-popular with new vapers as they are often the closest to the experience of smoking a tobacco cigarette. You don’t need to refill your vape or adjust any settings, simply inhale and you’re away! However, there are also pod devices that you can refill, giving you the flexibility of a more advanced box mod, while still being affordable and simple to use! In a refillable vape pod device (sometimes referred to as an open-system), you aren’t restricted to certain brands or flavours of e-liquid, and can have your pick of the market! Most vape pod devices are also on the smaller side when compared to other devices like box mods. Many are designed in the small, thin, cylindrical “vape pen” style, making them super easy to transport in a bag or pocket. Vape pods are a bit more expensive than refilling a tank with e-liquids, and per ml, it is much cheaper to pick up your own e-liquids and a vape with a refillable tank. This style of vaping also creates more waste as you’re disposing of a non-recyclable plastic pod every time you finish your cartridge. Open-system or refillable pods are slightly better for this than closed-system or pre-filled cartridges, however, you will have to replace your pods more often than with a vape that uses a tank system. However, even the most expensive vaping habit is considerably cheaper than smoking, so while it might not be the most economical way to vape, vape pods and pod devices are still much better for your wallet than tobacco! Cartridge or pod devices are the easiest kind of e-cig to use, and are perfect if you simply want to vape quickly and easily, without any fuss at all!
