How To Choose The Perfect Vape Coils

This key piece of equipment is vital to a successful, consistent vaping experience. Sometimes called atomizers or atomizer heads, replacement coils go inside your vape tank which features an atomizer head, a thin metal coil and wicking material. The atomizer head takes the energy produced by the batteryto a heating element which heats the coils. The wicking material soaks up the e-liquid, and this is then turned into vapour by the heating element, and you inhale the subsequent vapour. When it comes to choosing which vape coil is for you, it all depends on the type of vape that you want. Some of our customers choose vape replacement coils that feature atomizer heads which last for a long time, typically 1-2 weeks, don't use much e-liquid and don't create a large amount of vapour. Others prefer the large cloud of vapour, and are happy to top up their e-liquid more often. In our experience, when chatting to new, or sometimes even more experienced vapers, the best way to find your ideal coil is to simply try, try and try. It's about finding the best one for you, and that usually takes a little time.

What Are The Different Types Of Coils?

Coils can be made up of a variety of different materials including, kanthal, stainless steel, nichrome, nickel and titanium. There are other materials used but those five are the most common types you'll see here at Time 2 Vape. Power mode coils, and temperature control coils, are also two common types of products. Power mode coils are the easiest, and most common, type, you simply turn on the device, set the wattageand away you go. Temperature control coils are more advanced and offer greater customisation. These coils allow you to set temperature limits and your wattage range. While more complex, plenty of vape users like the temperature control coils because it allows them to create that perfect throat hit. The coils themselves can be broken down into two main categories - high resistance coils and low resistance coils, both of which are measured in ohms. As a term, 'coil resistance’ just refers to the electrical resistance in the atomizer heads that convert the energy in the battery, to heat. This is measured in ohms and the measurement will help you understand the amount of electrical resistance. A high resistance coil features an atomizer head with resistance above 1.0 ohm, and is the preferred choice of the average vapour, thanks to its lower power production, smaller clouds of vapour, and low usage of e-liquid. In contrast, a low resistance coil has a resistance that's lower than 1.0 ohm (sometimes called a 'sub-ohm'). This resistance level tends to require more power to operate successfully. Low resistance coils produce a larger cloud of vapour and use far more e-liquid when compared to high resistance coils.

How Long Do They Last?

Of course, the length of time that you can use your vape coil before it needs replacing very much depends on how much you use it. However, in general, coils last around 1-2 weeks before they need to be replaced. This time can be extended, however, if you properly break in the new coil and undergo regular maintenance between usages. By looking after your products, you'll save money in the long run because you won't be having to replace your coils two to three times a month. In addition to saving money, you can also expect to enjoy a more satisfying vape experience if the equipment is cleaned and looked after. What follows are three quick things you can do to prime your vape coilsand ensure you get the best value for money:

1. Dispose of your old coil, and screw in your new one, first. This will allow you to grip the larger tank base for steps two and three.
2. Saturate the wicking material by adding a drop of vape juiceinto holes found on the body of the coil's head.
3. Once filled, reassemble the tank, attach the battery, and take half a dozen 'dry hits'. This allows the vape juice to head to the cotton wick.
